This a great tip I wanted to share...When you buy your tree and they give it a fresh cut for you, bring it home and put it into a 5 gal bucket full of water. Let it sit for a minimum of 24 hours (48 works for me). Then put it on your tree stand bring it in (& fill it with water again) then decorate. Be sure to check the water every other day. Once the supply of water dries up it wont suck up any more water. If you do this you will be pleasantly surprised at how much longer your fresh tree stays fresh!!
